Common Name: Western Usambara Two-horn Chameleon
Scientific Name: Kinyongia multituberculata
Previous nomenclature: Bradypodion fischeri multituberculatum

Here are a couple of quick shots of a 2-horn chameleon born (along with its siblings) only a few days ago. They hatched after a long, 7 month incubation period.

Sorry about the shaky shots-- these guys are so shy I had to hide a few feet away from their cage to capture semi-natural behavior, including the tongue "flick" at the end of the video-- used as a way to "smell" its surroundings by picking up chemicals which are then analyzed by a supplemental olfactory organ called the Jacobson's, or vomeronasal organ.

Thanks, Pierre. Defintely a shorty short, and what I would have done to have a tripod handy on this one. Glad you enjoyed it, though...
