Working in conjunction with the Indian government, ASR Ltd completed construction of India's first Multi-Purpose Reef in February, 2010. The primary purpose of the reef is to mitigate coastal erosion from monsoon waves in the small town of Kovalam. The reef also creates an excellent habitat for marine species. Finally, as this video shows, the reef has helped create a great surf spot.

why this one seems to work pretty well and the one here on the gold coast doesn't work? I guess this is nice and shallow so wave breaks good or maybe the position close to a headland?? I would be nice to see plenty of these waves around! Imagine what it could do to real estate value if you've got a wave like this nearby!

other question is: has it been braking like that often or it just happened a couple of times since February?
