first of a series of video-letters to iá...
establishing communication through diverse practices.
on this particular case, verbal language was censored due to the amount of information that occupies the screen in order to induce the reader to interpret the visual text in a different context than the usual signifier/significant dichotomy.
this series is being produced for iá in codified languages that might not be readable even to the reader these discourses are directed to.

the message as the message itself.

... and yet, the irony is that the intent is to "...establish(ing) communication through diverse practices."
Like they say... if you don't know what it is... then, it must be art. ;-)
Ah well... some interesting effects you used...
the aspect i try to emphasize in this video is the possibility of communicating by using a medium with the sole intention of establishing communication [and by saying that i mean getting in touch with someone without saying something objectively]. therefore, the process of communicating occurs with a signifier that has no specific signifiant other than the metalinguistic possibilities of a message inserted on a set [herein, the video medium].
the two phrases you highlighted, while apparently paradoxical, when associated state that even a message that cannot be decoded by the reader is still a communicational process that possesses meaning in this context.
i hope this clarifies a little bit the concept of letters to iá.
greeting, pedro.
