The picture is just so clear...it's beautiful. I especially love the fire scene.

Thanks Kelley. I'm glad you like the headlamp part of the video. I really think its the most interesting footage with all the lights.
  •
  • nice work, was it shot on a dslr? if so what lens and what iso setting?
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
I shot it with the 5d mark ii and used varying iso settings. The night shot was shot at iso 6400.
  • thanks for the reply, did u use any other light sources such as a led panel or just the head lamps?
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
I wasn't using any light source. The headlamps provided pretty much all the light. Without them in the shot you couldn't see much at all what was going on. It was just about pitch black out at the time so I was amazed the video came out at all.

Do you think there might have been a better way to shoot them with the headlamps at night?

Oh! by the way why is your violin on the right shoulder - u confuse me
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
There was a Mariachi Band on board and one of them randomly handed me the violin. We had been drinking a lot of tequila that day to answer your question.

Excellent work Colin! Love the shots of Horsetail. Your choice in music is as impeccable as the imagery and composition. Can't wait to see more work in the future.

The sharpness and detail in the wide shots are incredible. I'd second oweng's question about lenses.
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
I used my Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM and rented a Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM from borrowlenses.com

Most of the shots in this video were with the 135mm though both lenses produce amazing quality.

How much of it was Time Lapse vs actual video?
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
I did photo and video in timelapse. Most was sped up video. Photo is better quality though.
