If you can tolerate shaky handheld footage and inaccurate focus pulls than this video is for you.
I apologize for the visual mess but I'm a tripod shooter to the core. I have little handheld skills, as you can tell.
Some fun tidbits about this footage... First off, this is not graded. This footage is straight from the camera, virgin style. I believe I used the factory preset "Faithful" picture profile. Why? Because, I think that's where it was left from the last shoot I did.
The Timelapse was shot with an old little Canon Rebel XTi and those images are untouched.
The video was shot with my Canon EOS 7D and I had the pleasure of trying out two wonderful but, different lenses. The first was Jehu Garcia's from Jag35.com. He let me use his Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8. At least I think that's what it was. Correct me if I'm wrong Jehu. I had a lot of fun with that lens. I got the boob shot with that one.
The second lens was Dan Chung's from DSLRnewsShooter.com. He let me use his Leica R series 50mm f/1.4. I simply feel in love with this lens. Using it took me back to my Nikon F3 and Nikon 50mm f/1.4 days. The lens speed coupled with manual iris control, with beautiful bokeh put this lens on the top of my wish list. Side note: I have an entertaining story about Dan that Monday night, well actually two but, I'll save those for another time.
All I can say is both Jehu and Dan are amazing people and I appreciate their kindness in letting me go hog wild with their lenses that night. Cheers guys!
A lot can be told of that night. A lot of great people where there. The event was a success. Big kudos to those how organized it and made it happen.
Another side note... @Zacuto_Sue was there and I begged her on my knees even for a Zacuto DSLR Tactical Shooter and Z-Finder so that I wouldn't shoot crappy footage that night but, I was totally denied...
OK... I made that up. I didn't beg, so I wasn't denied. But @Zacuto_Sue was there and she gave my wife @Marnie_Reynolds a Zgrip iPhone Jr. Twitter Hugs Sue!
