On the way to Tofino, I saw my first ever bear (outside of a zoo, that is). It looked to be a young bear but still quite big. I was filming from inside the car. The bear didn't seem to care. I actually saw another one later on in the exact same situation (eating grass alongside the road). That one was near Port Renfrew - another very remote place further south.
