The Grade 1, $237,360 Heritage Place Derby was won in a thrilling finish by DMNV Mountable who added the race to his score in the Remington Park Derby in April.

DMNV Mountable had to fend off a late charge by Coronas Fast Dash in the final strides to win by a head. Hijo De Villa was another half-length back in third.

DMNV Mountable handled the 400 yards in :19.704 as the 7-5 wagering favorite. It was his third consecutive victory this season at Remington Park. In gaining the winner’s share of $99,691, DMNV Mountable increased his lifetime earnings to $278,331.

Coronas Fast Dash was piloted to a second-place finish in the Heritage Place Derby by G.R. Carter. The runner-up check of $40,351 gave Carter enough to go over the top in setting a new AQHA all-time jockey earnings record. At the end of the final night of racing, Carter had $41,601,052 in career Quarter Horse earnings, surpassing the previous mark of $41,405,207 held by the retired Jacky Martin.
