Superb movie, would love to see the stories of the other characters, maybe even a full Wizard of Oz, that would be awesome!

One thing though, the voices were very very quiet, could hardly hear them or the songs they sang.

Amzing little movie, I really enjoyed it even though the story was a bit predictable (makes sense since it's kind of a prequel).

I also missed trees that were actually cut down though, he could have done that some place else but still :)

  • Dellig 1 year ago
That was pretty awesome. I wasn't expecting it to be too terribly good, as I didn't much care for SciFi's Tin Man, nor do I really wanna see the upcoming Witches of Oz. But this was extremely nice. The voices of the man and woman in the lead roles somewhat put me off, as their vocal choices weren't quite what I'd like. The Tinsmith, however, was amazing, and I loved his character-- as I loved the Tin Man once he had become such.

On a side note, what kind of camera did you use for this? It looks fantastic without looking like you shot it with a RED One or something.
  • Thanks for the feedback.
We shot on the CineAtla HDW-F900.

I liked it! Nice movie. Beautiful images.
The one thing that bothers me though is that the actor is holding the axe in the wrong way. Someone should have told him that you should have two hands on the end of the steel.

  • This was amazing!
Its really entertaining to watch. I watched it over half a dozen time now, and most likely will keep looking back at this video for entertainment, and to learn something from it.

The music with this was perfect. Costumes, acting, you name it.

How much did this cost to make?

Well done! Well done! Now I want to see your take on the continuing adventures of Nick Chopper and Nimmie Amee as related in THE TIN WOODMAN OF OZ. (bit.ly/aWFOim) That's my favorite Oz book and people need to know the story of Chopfyt and Captain Fyter!

With as much narration as you have, I'd cut down considerably on character dialogue; especially between the romantic leads. Their visuals and facial expressions are more than enough to tell the story of their scenes. Their lines just kind of muddy things up.
  •
  • Robert La Cross 1 year ago
Wow! Simply beautiful! I really hope you get to do more with OZ. A trilogy would be awesome! I see great things coming your way! Cool beans!

    AMAZING, Absolutely AMAZING! BRAVO!!!

I loved the end credits, just so well done and works with the story. WOW!

I really liked the music as well, at most the end song. Would that be a download somewhere?

You should do the other two, Mindless and Fearless, good idea, I think that would make a great trio. Sign me up for helping out with the titles graphics.

Drop me a line if you do, would like to offer my help: nick.ttms@gmail.com

Nice Job, keep up the great work!!!!
  • The music can be downloaded for free on our website. Just go to the Heartless film page.

This was wicked - It's cool that their making a feature film about the actual wizard and how he became the Wizard of Oz, this added another dimension too an already great story for me.

To give some constructive criticism, I think the script could have been better, and some of the acting too. But overall I think you guys did a really great job. Particularly the tin man costume which is just exquisite! Who made it? Also, how and where did you get permission to chop down fully grown trees?
  • Thanks Jane, I have to concur with your sentiment. Hopefully we improved a little on Candy Shop (our latest).

Hi I love it a lot!! I just have a question maybe you can point and help me out here. I just started making films, more like little videos. I want to achieve that soft film look. How can I do that? Does it have to do with the lens? The CC in post? or what? Thanks!
  • Well, the first place I would start is lenses. Prime lenses instead of zoom lenses.
  •
  • cgtrinity 10 months ago
Thanks Brandon, I will look more into different prime lens. THanks!
