Not a great piece of cinematography, but roughly covers what's going on. Processing checks the webcam, Max/MSP takes the X-axis for MIDI notes and Y for MIDI CC, which controls various things, then an OpenFrameworks app on the Asus Eee listens to the line input, does FFT then draws wobbly boxes to follow the spectrum.

The mic on my otherwise nice Samsung NV-8 digicam is dreadful, and the sound is still bad despite me separating the audio stream from the avi and EQing that boom... Oh well, could be worse.
