I shot these images in Transilvania while visiting Romania, this is a Gypsy Colony, the poorest of the poorest, they have NOTHING and I mean nothing. In fact they live from day to day, they may have something to eat in the evening but the next day...breakfast is a luxury. No electricity, thus no heating in the winter, no fresh water, no sanitation, no roof on most of the houses. YET...I have never in my life seen kids so happy and full of life. No tears, no anger, no pain. I bought lots of food for them before I left and made sure they each received a meal from it. I will also send them photos through a friend and if I ever make it back there I will visit them again. You dont need wealth, money, riches to love each other. I can guarantee anyone that these people will still flourish when we are all in pain and starve if the world turns upside down! They are all through survivors. Are you? Are you happy? Have you seen your kids smile like this even when they have not eaten for days. Think!
