Now I have experienced it so many times: I'm fed up with something, it sould be timelapse, and then somebody makes a timelapse SO FINE, that I have to take back my words and thoughts and just enjoy it.
Thats how it is with your film. Pure beauty. Thank you for some happy minutes watching it and for inspiration.
  • Dominic plus 1 year ago
oh wow..much appreciated Michael! I'm glad you felt inspired.

    Very very very well done!
I really liked the recall of the first scene at the end, with the minute hand moving as seconds...
    Totally great work! Well done!
  • Dominic plus 1 year ago
thx a lot Edouard ! I was trying to tell a story with the video. The clock idea helped a lot to do that.

    very nice collection Dominic!
not sure what they were kicking out, but I loved the look of the 'smoke stacks' ... looked like flames ...
    and that crazy blinking bridge!
loved the misc detail shots as well as the overview ones.
looking forward to the next collection!
  • Dominic plus 1 year ago
thx Ken, it's great that you noticed the details ;) I hope you will continue your crazy timelapse work too !
  •
  • Daniel De Silva plus 1 year ago
fantastic timelapse! the best I have seen!

Can I ask, do you always shoot entirely manual for timelapse? I have tried to shoot sunsets etc where the exposure will change dramatically over 2 hours, and i always see the flicker in iso or shutter exposures. Thanks for sharing this remarkable footage ;)
  • Dominic plus 1 year ago
    Thanks Daniel!
Most of the time, I shoot manual but sometimes AV mode. Try a deflicker plugin. I recommend granitebaysoftware.com/

  • Christian Als 1 year ago
I really don't know how to do this. How do you put the settings on your EOS 5D MkII to shoot these scenes?
  • Dominic plus 1 year ago
You need an intervalometer to take continuous frames at a regular interval.
  • Christian Als 1 year ago
    Thx Dominic,

and then what kind of workflow do you use in photoshop in order to make them all processed even?
And again, how do you run the whole lot afterwards? In Final Cut or?

I love it. Perfect dramatization-soundtrack fit. And that falling sky part looks just so fantastic.

And specially I love that fairy tail feeling all over the story.

Have you done some digital enhancement of the frames or it's quite raw and pure?
  • Dominic plus 1 year ago
Some basic adjustments with the levels and saturation. thx for the comment !
