Ah, gluten: that pesky little protein found in wheat, rye, and barley that some people (myself included) are--sadly--allergic to.

I'm sure most of you have seen the term 'gluten-free' somewhere. Maybe you have a friend who's allergic to gluten, and you don't quite understand what the deal is. Maybe your significant other is allergic, and you forget why he or she gets pissy when you insist on ordering pizza. Or maybe you, yourself, are gluten-intolerant or celiac.

In this short and quirky documentary , created in 2007 by Aiza Bonus, Sky Madden, and Amanda Van West, we go gallavanting around the San Francisco area to find out a little bit more about the so-called 'gluten epidemic.'

Our journey led us to HealthNOW Medical Clinic in Sunnyvale, where Dr. Vikki explained the medical implications behind gluten intolerance. We also interviewed Cameo from Crave Bakery, who bakes amazing allergy-free goods; and Ike from Ike's Place (aka the best sandwich joint in San Francisco), who creates gluten-free sandwiches!
