The brightly lit scenes look amazing - especially the interrogation room at the end. The whites come out so creamy and awesome.
  • Joel Curran 2 years ago
You should see the uncompressed file - the whites are even creamier!

Yes we should... shouldn't we. Hmmm?

That was intense! It all looked very nice.

Except how weak that drink gets poured 45 seconds in.

There should have been a blazing car crash ending... but aside from that it was awesome!

I think you should have gone with Australian accents though. I always cringe when people do American accents, I'd probably cringe more if I was American.
  • Joel Curran 2 years ago
Our teacher said the same thing about the accents, but we thought the lines sounded worst with aussie accents...
As for the blazing car crash ending, do you mean that in a literal or metaphoric way?
  • Paul McClintock plus 2 years ago
Literal! No noir film is complete without a big fiery car crash.

But yeah, I see the point about the dialogue. Geoffrey Wright's version of Macbeth was ruined by the mix of Shakespearean dialogue and Australian accents. (And the acting in general was poor - which didn't help things).

Really, I would have chosen to do Australian accents, with dialogue to suit. So, instead of using the cliche dialogue to do a pastiche of American noir films, I'd go with an 'Australian' noir type of thing.

Or Collingwood... there's more organised crime in Collingwood isn't there?

He should have recognized his wife from behind! I don't mean that in the naughty way. Or do I?

Impressive stuff here. Beautifully shot, sharp dialogue, all-around entertaining.

Was it just me, or did she make a mistake with her line at 1:56?
  • Joel Curran 2 years ago
Think of it as character depth.
