Track is "Vanishing Point" from Primal Scream
These videos were all created using the same 3d model of a head, but with different lighting, alpha channel, and texture mapping settings. Viewed together as a group, they show a SMALL range of the huge variation that can be achieved with 3L by changing just a few variables of a narrow range of parameters.
All of the examples were performed and recorded live using the built-in dvr of 3L, with audio analysis driving the different parameters, and a midi controller for camera motion control. These are all unedited "live jams".
Utilizing a 3d obj model of a face rendered in POINT mode, different positions and scale setttings were applied to the object using the GLOBAL GRAPH module to keep motions in synch. In the second step, various points of the model were used as reference points to add a red sphere with the MULTIPLE OBJECT module.
The scene with the two objects was then lit with two lights: One light at 25% DIFFUSE value and one light at 100% SPECULAR value, both of them positioned on the left side of the scene, to give the shading on the Race points and the spheres.
Finally, two fx were applied to the scene output in this order: CIRCLE DISTORTION with the wet/dry alpha transfer mode set to DIFFERENCE, and then secondly SINEFOLD FX, which gives the face further distortion later in the clip.
