This hands down is one of my favorite video projects ever. I had the chance to shadow the jazz musician Kenneth Whalum III. Here is a snippet from the article I wrote for MedillDC.com:

WASHINGTON – The sharp opening notes of Jay-Z’s Roc Boys have been part of Kenneth Whalum III’s life every night for the past couple of months.Playing his sax in the band before crowds of more than 20,000 for the Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige “Heart of the City” tour was the latest stop in Kenneth Whalum III’s journey from his roots in Memphis, Tenn., and a family that features uncle Kirk Whalum, a Grammy-nominated jazz musician, as well as other jazz-musician relatives.
