The Royal Air Force’s role, in conjunction with other Defence organisations of the United Kingdom, NATO and other foreign partners is to deliver the UK Defence Vision by defending the UK and its interests, strengthen international peace and stability and to be a force for good in the world.
The RAF Reserves is made up of Royal Auxiliary Air Force squadrons across the UK, who employ part-time Reservists to support the wider RAF.
606 Squadron was formed in 1996 as the helicopter support squadron, with 180 Reservists working in diverse areas such as logistics and flight operations.
It is the only RAF Reserves unit that operates with the Joint Helicopter Command. This short promotional film humanises some of the members of 606 Squadron and promotes some of the trades available to Reservists.
