This short video provides a visual, narrated explanation of how Renewable Energy Payment, or REP, programs work.
The REP approach, also known as a Feed-In Tariff, is a form of public policy that creates financial incentives for renewable power producers using a variety of mature technologies such as wind, solar, biomass, small hydro, anaerobic digestors and other sources.
Today, REP programs account for the largest share of current renewable power investment and have driven adoption rates in all of the world's leading renewable power nations.
In 2010, REPs have been implemented in a handful of U.S. cities and states and are now being contemplated by a much larger set of legislatures.
