All were shot from my room balcony with MY HDR-HC3 at 3 sec intervals.

I brought the flimsy-ist tripod and is was not sturdy in the wind.

Also I used a cheap wide angle lens which just robbed all the sharpness. I'm posting it anyway.

It's very good, don't worry about sharpness, it's the process and creativity that matters

What wide angle did you end up getting?
  • Lucasberg 3 months ago
I didn't get one yet, but as soon as I round up some more funds I'll get the Sigma 10-20.
Is it worth the money for the extra 7mm's I would get in your opinion?
  • Andrew Curtis 3 months ago
I think the Sigma 10-20 is worth every penny, it's attached to my camera 75% of the time and most of my timelapse stuff is done with it.

Nice! What part of Hawaii were you in? I went to Honolulu, the weather was so nice. I would love to have seen all the islands, maybe I'll go back one day If I ever get the money. I just hate the 9 hour flight.
  • Lucasberg 2 months ago
Thanks, I wnt to Oahu. I love going there , I think this was my 5th time going to one of the islands. 9 hours is a long time, it's only 5 for me.

it's an amazing video!!! it made me homesick though, since I'm from Hawaii.. but now transplanted to upstate NY. I love the first scene, it brought back such great memories. Love the music too.. Aloha oe

    Thanks Byron,
You are a lucky guy for getting to live there at one time.

wow. I am impressed with all your works. I like this video a lot too, becuase the shots are very unusual for timelapse. I like it. You used a HDR-HC3 camera? Are you saying this camera features interval mode for creating timelapse..??
  • Lucasberg 2 months ago
    Thanks Olga

I shot these with my Sony camcorder. It does have a timelpase function but it is 1 picture every 30 seconds.

I bought this interval box called Gentled Auto that will do 3 second intervals whis is what I shot these with.

I LOVE this... The unsharp images, extreme chromatic fringing on the edges, occasional tripod bumps, high contrast, and yellowish exposure blend perfectly with the downtempo slack key melody to form this amazing nostalgic experience...

Very much reminds me of watching one of my dad's 8mm family vacation films as a kid.
