The avant-garde music video for Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" song, directed by Jonas Odell, was inspired by Dadaism (especially Max Ernst's Une Semaine de Bonté), Busby Berkeley choreographies and Russian constructivist design.
This Franz Ferdinand video won the Breakthrough Video award at the 2004 MTV Music Video Awards.
We'd like to think this music video helped their second single "Take Me Out" reach #3 in the UK Charts. Wishful thinking?
