The Sodexo Corporation has recently come under fire for employing practices that keep its lower-level employees below the poverty line. In 2009, the Service Employees International Union began a project to unionize Sodexo employees across the country and bring Sodexo to the bargaining table. Both Ithaca College and Hobart William Smith College in upstate New York contract their dining services with the Sodexo Corporation. The main problem for trying to unionize workers: their fear. And how do you fight fear? Outrage.

A documentary film by Topher Hendricks and Ryan Wismer. 2010.

Service Employees International Union began a project to unionize Sodexo employees across the country and bring Sodexo to the bargaining table. You're right. But what's behind that? SEIU is running corporate campaign against Sodexo. Why Unite Here is not conducting bargaining? Because Unite Here disagree with SEIU about attacks on Sodexo. Because Unite Here truly want to defend Sodexo employees instead of just take money for representation. Fear? You speak about fear but you forget those who choose to leave SEIU because they just do not care...
