Marina McBrearty on Acupuncture from "View From The Bay".
In today's China, Traditional Chinese Medicine (tcm) and Western Medicine work harmoniously towards the common goal of health and wellness for the patient. This is also the philosophy I bring to my practice. TCM works best as a preventative measure to keep the body's energies and systems in balance before illness develops. The old saying, "a good Chinese doctor has no sick patients," suggests a skilled practitioner working with a patient to prevent illness. In my practice I integrate Acupuncture and Herbal Formulas with patient education so that the individual becomes instrumental in their own health. I strongly encourage my patients to take an active role in their health care and I help them to achieve small obtainable lifestyle changes that can bring long term health benefits.
