6/7/08 (Lila, age 12 months)

This is a really funny video, but I wish I had started filming 3 minutes earlier, because then you would be able to revel in the hilarity that preceded this film: Mike's ham-fisted attempts to light all of Lila's birthday candles! None of the candles would light and Mike was getting all frustrated because the stubborn candles kept going out and wax was dripping everywhere. He finally got them lit, but the minute he picked up the cake to transport it to the table, the ceiling fan blew all but one candle out, which is why I am laughing hysterically on the video. That, coupled with Beans' crying and struggling with her birthday hat, made for a pretty funny first birthday! Hope you enjoy the video!
