Both of these events occurred on the same day, may 8th 2010, and i was interested in the interpretations of "the spectacle" of the American Indian in relation to a Standford Pow Wow where the outsider looking in may interpret the Pow Wow as an opportunity to gain rare insight into native culture when depending on the circumstance the event can actually exist more as a contest to an outsider.
Then in contrast the spectacle of the comodification of the art object in a bourgeois art event context and the idea that the more capital you invest in an event determines the value of the work exhibited.
