I was exploring the low-tech grungy world of mobile phone video as part of the work I do in digital inclusion. I liked the immediacy and reportage capabilities of the phone but disliked the brown, soupy results of a single image. bearing in mind Warhols and Eno's laws about everything being better when you repeat it I thought my solution would be to introduce even more soupy brown videos and make a grid of images - and it was a bit of a revelation. As a workshop leader I am always looking for new tools to encourage engagement by marginalised groups and aesthetic play from other sectors. This seemed to work, its opened up a wealth of possibilites and I am currently developing the workshop methodolgy to exploit it. And making more grid pix
