Today's thunderstorm completed my week of weather videos. I don't plan to make a habit out of this, but I wanted to push myself to make one new video every day for a week. Mission accomplished.

You have a good eye for close ups.
And for now: 'Stop the rain...'

Thanks. Yeah, I'm done with the rain for a while. Don't like getting my camera close to that much water. Now I just need to find a new subject that isn't weather.

you should try making some short films, maybe only 1 or 2 minutes long, with an extremely simple story.
Lots of your shots are really cool!

Thanks! I've thought about a few shorts but I haven't had any ideas good enough to follow up on yet.

Wonderful Footage! I made a Music Video for a client, using only Canon Hv20's and 30's, and he wanted to do an outside rain scene. And we did everything, and it rained on the perfect day. And the video has the most Film look ever. I have my own secret on how to get REAL24P Footage with a HD Camera so... Everything was awesome!

Thanks for the compliments! Your music video sounds cool. Are you allowed to post it or at least some of the clips you shot? I'd love to see it. And is there a secret to 24p outside of deinterlacing and frame removal? Educate me!

Great work Chris. Reminded me of the awful summer we had here in the UK last year.

Awful? I love this weather — except when it leads to lots of flooding (watched your video). Thanks Bill!

One way that you can get achieve a really awesome 24p look is to put your HV20 or 30 into 24p CineMode and get a piece of glass, put a very low grade tint on it. I'd say about a 8% - 14% tint. And have it attached on front of lens. That will give your 24p Look a realistic Film Look out this world. For more ideas hit me up, at SoundVisionMedia@yahoo.com. And as far as the Music Video, I will see if I can upload it to Vimeo!

Interesting. How do you attach the glass to the front of the lens? Looking forward to seeing the music video too.

I bought a Universal Matte Box that allows you to use filters to control the amount of light that enters your camera. I had the glass tint cut the same size of a filter, in order to insert into the filter slot, and the tint gives it the best 24p Look i've come across yet.

And for the video, I am trying to get a copy from the person in order for me to upload it. I never stored it to my HardDrive. But as soon as they send it to me it will be up!

I may look into that. Thanks for the tips!
