Housing campaigner Elizabeth Pascoe finally moved out of her house along Liverpool's Edge Lane corridor in March 2010, following an epic fight through two public inquiries and several high court hearings. It is one of hundreds to be flattened to make way for a road-widening scheme and new housing, partly funded by the controversial Housing Market Renewal scheme. In May 2010, the newly installed Labour leader of Liverpool City Council said the city's demolition policy would be reviewed.
