I missed Sofie's 100th ( actually her 101st and 102nd also) birthday. I had promised her some opera music for her 100th birthday. When it became clear I was not going to be in Israel for her 100th, I taped this song (with an SD videocam) but I failed to send it to her.

I finally got back to move the footage off the camera, only to discover the iMac requires a Firewire 800 cable that I don't have. I played the footage with the camera's non-digital video out into a DVD recorder, then imported the VOB file to iMovie.

The clip quality suffered immensely but it served to "learn iMovie" and "learn Sonicfire Pro 5" (bundled with Toast 10 Pro).

I added the birthday wish, used the "iMovie globe toy" and the SmartSound royalty-free background music, to create a 3 minute belated video birthday card.

I'm just lucky Sofie is being so patient with me.
