have you thought about using meetup.com for your Tulsa Japanese group? they may have a group already that you can join up with; otherwise, you can post your own group and maybe get some more people to show up!

i actually joined a chicago japanese club on meetup.com -- i have had conflicts every time so far, but i do plan to go sometime, and they seem to have a decent size.
