"Texting Tyra" and "Emo Edward" don't know how to enjoy a performance or what appropriate audience behavior is. Follow the journey of their friend, "Slick Shawn," as he opens his eyes to new things, while the smooth talking Narrator introduces him to the work, spirit and diversity that create art, music, dance and theater.
"The Top Ten Rudest Things You Can Do at a Cultural Event" is a clip from a short film, Culture Shocked, created by Miami's Ground Up & Rising and CultureShockMiami.com. The 20-minute film has just been released for educators to provide teen students a glimpse into the distractions of their daily lives and how they are missing out on a true entertainment treasure: the cultural performing arts.
Copies of Culture Shocked are available to organizations who book group sales for high school students. The 20-minute film is a great supplemental lesson plan tool for teachers seeking to promote an awareness and appreciation of the arts. Copies are also available for summer camps, seminars and workshops.
