The video Wintergames offers the viewer revised historical footage which in this era of daily visual overload could even be considered as nostalgic or vulgar. The point of departure of both documentary footages used, propaganda and sportsnews, is different. However as they are edited into one film similarities start to occur. Consequently it makes us question what the role of sports was and still is in the image-building of a nation.
