"A Step Away From Them"

This is an experimental (non-commercial) video documenting the flow of people at a crosswalk in New York City on a sunny friday afternoon. I was reminded of Frank O`Hara`s poem of the same title while doing this. The full length piece without cross-fades (appr. 30 minutes) will be shown on one of my upcoming exhibitions later this year. Maybe I will also extract still frames from this and create a photography series.
By the way: If you haven`t read Frank`s "A Step Away From Them", I would highly recommend to do so. It`s a great poem from 1956, combining streetlife with self-reflection, art and music.
