This buzzard is seen regularly in a Corfe Mullen garden that backs onto fields near to Haywards Lane. Buzzards are big birds of prey, with a wing span of up to 60 inches. They mainly eat rabbits and carrion and have a mewing call. Once persecuted by gamekeepers they are now a protected bird and there numbers have increased. There are now approx 44,000 pairs breeding in the UK.
