Children and young people.
Being admitted to a mental health hospital is a life changing experience, whatever your age. but for children, young people and their families, getting care in the right environment can make all the difference to their outcome, and to how they view mental health services in the future. Not every young person can be admitted immediately to a Child and Adolescent Specialist unit, so it is critical that professionals in adult services understand how under 18s differ from adult service users, how to keep them safe, the impact on the family and how to deliver a service which helps young people to recover. The material in this film reflects the views of oyung people and parents, and the views of specialist CAMHS professionals. Free copies of the DVD are available from nmhdu.org.uk
