Bringing the experience of stargazing indoors, U-Ram Choe's work in the exhibition "Kalpa" conjures galactic scale. Evoking the awe and wonder of nighttime skies, several flickering orbs illuminate the gallery space and surround the viewer with sparkling nebulae.

Depicting a green spiral galaxy, "SG-m3" is a motorized construction of resin and treelike brass tendrils that orbit an axis driven by electrical pulses. Using celestial motion as a metaphor for spiritual discovery, Choe expresses in this work an ageless curiosity of creation and the origins of life.
