    I've never seen this method for roof top wiring. I usually see wiring installs with a hole drilled through the roof, a pipe elbow and seal for water.

    Does this method do well against water leaks?

    No leaks and there has been plenty of rain. Since there are no new holes in the roof I do not expect to have any leaks.
