Lately, the Lord has been showing me that ministry is to Jesus alone! Everything we do is to be done out of a love for Him.
Yes, He told us to heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons, but that should not be the focus. Yes, we are here to share His love, but how can we share it if we don't even know Him? Matthew 7:22 has always intrigued me. How could people do these miracles and not know Jesus? I think I experienced this. For a while there I got caught up in "ministry" and forgot why I did it. I did it for the stories (to encourage people of course), but it was all about me doing things and feeling inadequate when I didn't. In His grace, Jesus stepped in!
He so desires our affections and our love. He longs for us. He is jealous for us. I think He would rather have our heart and our love than our ministry. When we do everything out of a love for Him, trust me, there will be many stories, but they all bring glory to Him and they are all down out of love!
