I always wanted to see what my paintings looked like when they were sped-up.
I never understood abstract art as a kid, I was a Van Gogh fan and loved the Impressionists. I painted rural scenes, African savannas, Italian countrysides. then I morphed into psychedelic Van Gogh, then Psychedelic art, then created what I called Abstract Cubist Psychedelic Pop Art. I felt constrained by my geometric lines and paint by numbers feel so I started dripping, dropping, blowing, swinging cans on a rope, dumping, throwing, curving, anything I could, with enamel paints on canvases and wood. What I saw was something beautiful, creative, expressive and was truly how I wanted to paint. Freedom, no constraints, no lines, just like the Universe exploding from the Big Bang, I was finally at home with my paint. I have some works here: picasaweb.google.com/apitko
I need better lighting than a garage light! I will post more painting videos after I get some good lighting installed. Song is "Touch Of The Night" by William Orbit. Filmed with my Canon HF100 and edited by me on my MacBook with Final Cut Express.
