First Project in my digital application methodology class. We were to animate shapes to music in after effects. This was my first time using this powerful program so keep that in mind when watching. Music by Her Space Holiday.

I bet you used a WHOOOLE bunch of keyframes to make this...
You may already know this... but... here goes, ...below are a few hints to make this much easier:
1) ...use only tracked music... i.e., music that has each instrument playing on a seperate track.
2) ...then use Tapcode's Sound Keys to automatically make the keyframes.
Use those two in combination and what you did would take about an 1 hr. or so (max.). I did something similar a while back and it took me about 30-40 mins. (assuming you have a basic understanding of After Effects).
