This is the shot I lost because of a power failure halfway through the night. What happened was that one of my cables had a 5-amp fuse, but my power source was 7amps, so the fuse blew around 2AM, cutting this timelapse short. I still got about 6 seconds worth of TL out of it - so not a total loss. Now I'm super eager to shoot more stuff just like this.

I love the clarity you have of the night sky, just we had evenings like that over here in the UK. Nice shot though, and I bet you were fuming after seeing this the following day?

Not so much fuming. I woke up at 5AM, climbed up the side of the mountain in the freezing cold, and saw my camera sitting there dead... when it should have been click-clacking away. I think the best way to described what I felt was "deflated". :(

Don't have the balls to leave an expensive camera on a mountain overnight. Left a flag up once. A helicopter checked it out the next day. Suspect they confiscate stuff left in regional parks beyond a certain time.

Well, I hauled my gear way, way up the side of a mountain in the pitch black and freezing cold at 10PM, and there were only like 3 other campers in the whole area - all of whom I had met. The chances of anyone finding my camera up there was like 1 in a million. That's the beauty of shooting in very remote places.
