Trude describes being evacuated to North Cornwall and taking part in war work. She stayed in England, rather than emigrating to America with her aunt and uncle, to stay close to her brother and sister. She shows a photograph of the three of them and describes their fears for their parents, with contact restricted to infrequent Red Cross letters which they would share.
