An incredible piece of work that took us roughly fourteen hours over two days to shoot. Each shot was carefully set up and cleverly executed. With a skeleton crew and no budget, I really think we out did ourselves on this one.

    just a Panasonic HVX200 with a crappy lens, but with an incredible dp, some fancy art direction and a mix of awesome - we got a nice a little piece that leaves me wanting more.

    Yeah I agree. I liked your framing of shots and your shot flow in general. I am about to start shooting some similar stuff for a few musician friends. Any tidbits of wisdom you gained from your dp that you could share?

    It's really all about the lighting. We only had a simple Arri kit (2x300w lights and 2x650w lights), two homemade shiny boards, two white cards, two black cards, and some grid cloth for the direct sunlight. Almost never used hard light, always bounced and he just knew right where to put the light to get a main fill and a beautiful highlight.

    Taking your time is the key. Took us at least 14 hrs solid for a 30 sec piece - roughly 8 main setups. That's the main reason why this is just a teaser. I boarded out the rest of the video, but it was gonna take us another good 10 days to finish, which we don't have at the moment. Good luck, look forward to seeing it.
