Me and 2 mates went some hillwalking for some much needed exercise. Was a tough walk/climb at first but we got there in the end :-) . I think what made it tougher than what it actually was is all the gear we took up to film and photograph it.
it was worth it just for the scenery alone. Here is some footage taken with the Canon 5D Mark II.

yes. havent found the 50L any better, other than it shoots at F1.2. which would be good to have but not £1000 good enough

    Lovely images, really well done.
What follow-focus system did you use?
  •
  • john johnston plus 1 year ago
i didnt use a follow focus mate but i'll take that as a compliment :-)
what makes you think i used a follow focus?
  •
  • Kevin Ahronson plus 1 year ago
Then you certainly deserve the compliment. I've shot some stuff with my own DSLRs, and I know how hard it can be to stay within the depth of field.

Why did I think you were using one? Some excellent focus-pulls mate.

BTW John, I checked out your website - Did you use one of the on-line photographic packages (Foliolink?), or was it bespoke? I only ask because I am looking for something similar.

Really enjoyed that video, great scenery, and nicely shot. Now I want to do that trek but it's probably beyond my capabilities! Will work up to it ;)

Thanks Thea. Thats actually one of the smallest mountains up there. Hence the reason why we did it. :-)
Taking all that gear up Ben Lomond etc would be tough, but very much worth it.
