After pulling back into wind, tracking across the slope in the other direction I repeated the manoeuvre but with disastrous consequences. The plane seems to tip stall, even though it was travelling at the same speed as in the left frame, then spirals into the ground. It was a write-off. If anyone can shed some light on this I'm all ears - and no Brisk.
