60" speed machine in unpowered dive. I was going to level out and skim the field at high speed having checked all was clear whilst still at height. A woman and a nun suddenly appeared as I was about to level the machine which required a thumbfull of up. Because the plane was gliding it was almost silent and although it was closer than it should have been when it passed her the woman didn't see it until I put the power on at about 100'. The nun just winked.
