Why are climbers willing to risk their lives to establish new routes? Free climbing in Zion is an adventure in itself. There are many obstacles to overcome; loose rock, rounded holds, sandy ledges, offwidths, etc. Long time climbing partners Rob Pizem and Mike Anderson are the most prolific free climbers in Zion history. This film documents Mike and Rob on their latest climb, "Shake That Bear" 5.12+ R. The routes' technical difficulty includes a 5.12+ crux involving a near impossible roof to two 5.12 pitches of runout offwidth and chimney climbing, including a squeeze chimney through a 20-foot roof. Watch these two ascent this beautiful wall and struggle to finally make the summit just in time for the sun to set.
