Mitch Silver spoke about his work in Nepal installing sustainable village lighting systems at the Kihei/Wailea Rotary meeting on June 2, 2010. This system uses rechargeable LED lanterns and a centrally located solar charging station and and replaces kerosene wick lamps. Silver, who lives in Kula, has also spent 7 years trekking in the Himalayas building remote village water systems and small hydroelectric systems
