    The hipoly has 500K quads (1 millions triangle). But when I make the lowpoly, I have set the multires level to lower of course.
    The lowpoly has 1500 quads (3000 triangle).

    Hi, this is really interesting.
    Did you use the Xray mode to see the mesh? I try retopo and my new mesh is "under" the original one ,so that I can't see it.
