A Blanket Dance concludes the Second Annual K-State at Salina Diversity Summit Powwow on April 10, 2010. It was a long trip for the faculty and students from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Memorial services were being held in their absence for Chief Wilma Mankiller who had passed that week. I dedicate this production to her memory, and to the great strides made in her personal, professional and political lives. She was honored by TWO Presidents of the United States and we were honored to have had her here in Salina at last year's powwow.
Thanks to Dr. Leslie Hannah for making the trip and for starting a great tradition for our community. Let's see some more support next spring when we celebrate the Third Annual K-State at Salina Diversity Summit Powwow!
