We cross Austria from West to the (middle-)East, mostly along the valley of the River Lech in May 2007.

Entering Austria at Feldkirch, a scenic mountain drive takes us via the Furkajoch mountain pass to Au in the Bregenz Forest. The valley connect to the Lech river that flows to where we're going. We tunnel our way out of Austria after passing through Reutte.

After driving alongside the Forggensee just past Füssen we arrive at our digs outside of Roßhaupten in the Allgäu region of Germany.

Mostly quiet roads. Often narrow. Sometimes twisty.

(Lots of coughing on the way... I got better, eventually. )
