A glimpse into the elaborate and visually stunning process artist Ken Little follows to fabricate anallegorical bronze sculpture of an adolescent bear lecturing to three jack rabbits. Made from a collection of smaller cast bronze pieces, the sculpture references the natural world of wild animals and connects them to the civilized world where weuse them as commodities. For more information on the artist visit his website at kenlittle.com.

This video was meta-art. Seeing the process that goes into creating art really gives it a story and personality.
  • Thank you for your comment. We really took a lot of time to follow Ken throughout the process and are happy to know his work speaks for itself.

another fantastic piece! YOu two really know how to put together a document. I'm sure you had enough footage to do a full feature, but each segment of little's process gets just the right amount of playtime, and you keep the talking to an appropriate minimum. I cannot look away. thanks for sharing! sometime you'll have to come out to california and document one of my performances. :-)
  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  • Love it - amazing to see the craftsmanship of the artist. Lovely photography as well. Thanks.

The absence of music makes the process even more intimate.

    Nice work!
  • Thank you. We've been interested in using less music and move more into a Vérité Documentary style.

I enjoyed every single second of it. The crisp an vibrant sound made me wonder which lavalier microphone you used?
  • Thank you! We used a Sennheiser G2 wireless system mixed with a Rode NTG-2 shotgun microphone.

Thanks guys (and congratulations on getting married! but i sorta liked the old name...)

This is a great document - leaning on the artist involved without enhancement or overkill- love it.

very sweet levels in cinematography/grading. It looks as if the first half of this at least is all 'available light' - is it so?
  • Thank you very much for your response! We love being married and we are so glad to have this film as the first under our new production company name. We're always happy to hear back from people who miss our old name, we understand. We were very attached to it, so attached people forgot our names and just called us "prime eight". We knew then it couldn't be something that we could keep forever. Change is always a good thing. Thanks again!

    man, great video,
  • Thanks so much! I don't think we've met, but we have a lot of the same friends. Jimmy first mentioned you to us last year and your name in fact came up today at Chris Sauter's house. He was giving us a tour and pointed out some of your art he had collected. Thanks again for the comment.

Again great work guys i came back and watched again

Did you bring the wireless and the rifle mic into a mixer or had you some sort of adaptor on your Nikon?
  • Hey Connor, Sorry for not responding sooner. Our Canon XH-A1 has two XLR inputs for our Sennheiser G2 wireless and Rode NTG-2 shotgun microphone. We mixed the two in editing, but mainly used the sound from the wireless. Thanks for checking out our work!
